Patrick Burgoyne has been the editor of Creative Review magazine since 1999. Before joining the magazine (as Staff Writer) he worked in marketing, first for the Body Shop and later for the University of Westminster, whilst also moonlighting as a writer for magazines such as The Big Issue. He is also the author of several books on design and visual culture and has written for many publications, including The Guardian, The Independent, Scotland on Sunday, Arena and La Repubblica.

He specialises in cross-platform service strategy with both a creative and implementation focused approach. Since joining Fjord in 2008, Konstantinos has significantly contributed to shaping and defining Fjord’s experience design offering. He has led teams to deliver game-changing solutions to most of Fjord’s key clients.

Nadine Chahine is an award winning Lebanese type designer with a special interest in Arabic typography. She studied Graphic Design at the American University of Beirut and MA in Typeface Design at the University of Reading, UK. During her study at Reading, she focused on the relationship of the Arabic and Latin scripts and the possibilities of creating a harmonious relationship between the two. She taught Arabic type design as a visiting lecturer at the American University in Dubai and at the Lebanese American University in Beirut. In 2005 she joined Linotype, Germany, as the Arabic specialist and has been living in Germany since then. In September 2007 she started a PhD program at Leiden University and her focus is on legibility studies for the Arabic script. She has won the Dean’s Award for Creative Achievement from the American University of Beirut in 2000, and an Award for Excellence in Type Design from the Type Directors Club in New York in 2008. Her typefaces include: Frutiger® Arabic, Neue Helvetica® Arabic, Univers® Next Arabic, Palatino® Arabic, and Koufiya™.

In 2006, Rietje Gieskes rejoined the New York office of Landor Associates as an Associate Design Director, specializing in corporate identity, brand identity and packaged goods. Her previous work experience includes four years at both Landor and Interbrand. She has completed successful programs for a wide range of internationally known brands and clients, including Leviton, Advertising Educational Foundation, Verizon, Jane Goodall, Gatorade, Aquafina, Pepsi, Tropicana, Entenmann’s, Kraft, Royal Ahold supermarkets, Starbucks, Novartis, Schering-Plough, John Wiley & Sons, Smirnoff and Verbatim. Her responsibilities include managing a team of highly talented designers as they move from project brief to final implementation, as well as managing relevant external design resources (illustrators, hand letterers, photographers) and presenting finished work to clients. Rietje (pronounced re-cha) was born in Enschede, The Netherlands. She received a BFA from Syracuse University with a major in Communications Design. She resides in New York City, and in her free time, she writes and illustrates children’s books and greeting cards.
